Premium Ice Hockey Goalie Camps
Premium, Private And Custom Goalie Camps Designed For The Maximum Results
GOALIE CAMPS DESIGNED FOR MAXIMUM DEVELOPMENT
I take maximum of 4 goalies on the ice so I can fully focus on your development. If you send me your game and practice videos I’ll even analyze them before the camp.
INDIVIDUAL ATTENTION - NOT JUST JUMPING FROM A ONE DRILL TO ANOTHER
I used to have camps with 20-30 goalies and sometimes even scoring camps combined with the goalie camp. Reason why I don’t do those anymore is that four goalies is the absolute maximum number you can actually give individual attention and to customize the drills. With maximum of 4 goalies on the ice, I can change the drills on the fly based on what I see. Only draw back is that due to less people sharing the cost my prices needs to be higher but goalies say that value you’ll get is greater.
PROPABLY THE BEST SHOOTERS IN THE WORLD
My camps in Finland have arguable the best shooters in the world. 2023 summer we had a combination of 50-100 NHL games and 200+ junior national team games among the shooters. Shooters will adjust their shots based on who is in the net but everything else they will do normal speed. For younger goalies this is really great because this will force them to read the situations and naturally fix errors. Especially patience and reactions improve immediately.
TRAIN WITH PRO PLAYERS DURING THE SUMMER
I can take pro, college and high-level junior goalies to train with different pro groups during the summer. If you are interested in working with me send me a message and we will see if I can take you to train with us and what the cost would be.
MY THOUGHTS ABOUT GOALIE CAMPS
What makes a good camp:
As a goalie I used to go to 1-2 camps every summer and as a coach I have coached at many different goalie camps all over the world. One thing I have noticed is that the camps that have a kind and caring atmosphere where people respect each other give the best results.
My experience as a goalie:
The best ice hockey goalie camps I have been at as a goalie had goalie coaches who actually cared about our development and everything was well organized.
I have personally enjoyed the comradery at big the camps and that is why I recommend everyone to attend also traditional camps with lots of goalies. Another reason why I recommend going to big camps is that you’ll get to learn from many different coaches. The downfall of big camps is that those are often just jumping from one station to another, there is no real individual attention and no time to actually work on specific things. Often coaches are also younger guys who don’t have much experience and therefore can’t see the details that experience gives you (I’m a much better coach now than 10 years ago).
The reasons why I chose not to host traditional big camps anymore are the amount of admin work it takes and the lower quality. Even with only 6 goalies, you start to run stations with time limits. The level of personal attention drops dramatically when there are more than 4 goalies on the ice.
With only 1-4 goalies I can focus on you and see details that actually make you better. With this setting, I can make sure the quality is what I want for you and I can customize training for you. For example, if we need to do a one drill for 30 minutes we can do it or do five drills in 30 minutes. The results on an individual level have been so much better compared to big camps that I can’t run big camps anymore. Only attend them as a guest coach.
My experience as a coach:
The best camps I have been at as a coach had coaches who were confident about their abilities and also okay with not having all the answers right away. When goalies and coaches are willing to listen to each other and have open minds it creates a positive learning environment that produces good results.
What to expect when working with me:
My style of coaching is very experimental. Meaning that I try to find what works for you and give you options. For example, there are many different ways to hold the glove so I test it with you to see what is the best glove position for you and how you can use different options in different situations.
Typically I plan the first half of the ice and then select drills for the second part based on what I see in the first half. I also consider your request for what you want to work on. I often make up drills on the fly if there are certain things that need to be fixed. That is why you may see some unusual drills on my social media.
I’d say the magic happens when there is attention to detail, repetitions, and time to hone the skill long enough so you can take it with you to daily life.
